Handa Seishu is a 23-year-old who, despite his young age, is a professional calligrapher. He’s young, handsome, and talented but happens to be quite the narcissist. When an elderly curator criticises his calligraphy for being “too unoriginal” he ends up getting angry and punching the man. Because of this, his father exiles him by sending him to the Goto Islands, the westernmost island of Japan, which is far from the comfortable Tokyo lifestyle Seishu is used to. While there, he meets the free-spirited and quirky villagers who will be his new neighbors, and as he interacts with them he also starts to discover and develop his own “style.”
